Historically, these articles had titles such as '1.6 Update' and similar, a fun fact you might find interesting. Anyway, the official format is 'Update 1.6', this being how they are titled by Topala on the teaser images he has uploaded on Facebook and Twitter over the years. Hence, this is why we use this particular format for updates/versions.
But you need to be just the most logic and not just stupidly make like RobTop make ! 2.0 is a version, and not a update! A update is the transition between 2 versions! We don't care about how it historically is
‘We’ really being just you. The term ‘update’ as a noun can be used interchangeably with ‘version’ in this context. Moreover, the articles do in fact discuss previews prior to the transition to the new version so the term is relevant in this context also. Essentially, we (or rather, nobody) will not be changing the names of these articles or categories since there is no real need to.
All good all good. Guess the wiki’s going as it does, although we’ll be carrying out a migration that gets our forum fellas a better place to hang out. Meanwhile content development is slow and somewhat steady, but as a GD database is doing a solid job right now I reckon.
If you still use your WhatsApp, I can really show you just how powerful the meerkats have become.
Hope the Ed roasts are still on ongoing on the agenda.
Ed and I discuss occasionally on Discord, nothing too eventful though. The usual banter we all know and love.
I should look into using WhatsApp again. Got a new phone a year ago (maybe a new number, I don't remember) and have been neglecting redownloading it on accident...heh. Need to get the roastie chat going again. I'll try to remember reinstalling it this week if my schedule allows. Got a lot of stuff on my mind at the moment.
GD Wiki is always the most extensive and powerful database about the game that exists, no surprises there.
Anywho, have you spoken to Matthew lately? The dude kinda fell off the grid a little under ayear and a half ago.
I don't understand. What exactly are you defining as a "jump"? If it is a tap/click my video shows 20, if it is times you tap while on the ground, the number on the page is too high. If it is times you tap while on the ground plus times you tap with jump orbs, that's basically just taps. If it's times the cube jumps off the ground, it's still too high. So what is it?
A jump in Geometry Dash is pretty much any tap for certain gamemodes or on orbs that add to the "jump" counter. In the end of each level, there will be a number of jumps made when completed. We are tallying the number of jumps in 1 attempt, otherwise the count would be too high and would be invalid to the information we add onto the pages.
Here is what constitutes as a jump:
Cube: Any click or tap when the player is on a platform.
Ball: Click or tap whenever player is on a platform.
Robot: Any click or tap when the player is on a platform.
Note how the other gamemodes do not have any data that suggests that tapping or clicking will constitute as a jump. However, regardless of gamemode, tapping on an orb of any kind will constitute as a jump.
Heh, well, we do actually have to finish jump counts and completion times first, which has taken a while but we’ll get it done with another burst of effort.
The problem with recording taps is that as soon as the ship is involved, it becomes unfeasible trying to figure out the least number of taps it takes to complete a sequence due to how the ship handles. So we probably won’t be able to pull this off without lots of effort and lots of help as well.
If you think you can complete a level below the minimum number of jumps as specified on their respective pages (first thirteen levels are 'confirmed' so far), you should upload an unaltered screen recording that shows the total number of jumps at the level completion screen.
No. As mentioned, this is unfeasible, not to mention a stretch of relevant trivia. Jump and completion times are reported at the end of levels which is what makes them a point of interest, and not insanely hard to obtain and verify. Trying to determine absolute taps for all 38 levels is a whole other kind of operation, and ultimately not worth the ultra mega effort to do so properly.
I see you don't have a discord server in this wiki, so in reply of your help in our wiki, I could make a discord server if you allow me to, as I made the GD Fan wiki discord server. I'm waiting for your reply;
I believe there are a few unofficial GD/wiki Discord servers, although there’s not that much to talk about these days and a main one would probably become a memefest soon enough, kind of why it made sense to consider migrating the community your way instead. Our local staff already have a remote communication mechanism as well. Thanks for the offer, though!
